Well the N96 has only been available for a short time and has already had numerous software updates to cure a few problems with the OS.
It is also rumoured to be having another s/w update available very soon through NSU. It is already available through authorised service centres in the UK like CPW and any other official updaters you can find!
v12.035 software should be soon available for most euro product code handsets, a changelog will be sought out and posted here.

UPDATE:
Following on after the Nokia N95 & N95 8Gb firmware updates the N82 has just got in on the action with version 30.0.019 for handsets with Euro 1 product codes with others to follow shortly.
It is thought that the update will include improvements much like the N95 8Gb enjoyed such as, the full N-Gage client, Google plug-in for search, Maps 2.0 amongst other improvements and bug fixes. The update is available for 0558752 and 0558655, so if you can’t wait, just change the product code and update.
